Islamabad – September 30: 2-member delegation headed by Dr. Shahzad Qaiser, Secretary Ministry of Tourism left for DAVOS, Switzerland for participation in Second International Conference on Climate Change in Tourism being held at DAVOS, Switzerland from 1-3 October 2007. The conference has been arranged under the aegis of United Nation World Tourism Organization to create awareness regarding new trends in tourism sector.

The Secretary Tourism may likely to address a Press Conference at Switzerland during the Conference to project Pakistan as a tourist friendly country and an attractive destination thereby to negate the adverse travel advisories and propaganda against Pakistan.

Pakistan has been striving for building soft image and every Pakistani is proud of the endeavors of Ministry of Tourism and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) for promoting valleys, mountains lakes and every unique aspect of Pakistan. .

Pakistan is proud of having world’s highest peaks, longest glaciers outside polar region, unique valleys and lakes, deserts, historical monuments, and cradle of civilizations. Pakistan is a destination of special interest for travellers and tourists. Its main attractions include adventure tourism in the Northern Areas, cultural and archaeological tourism as found at Taxila, Moenjodaro, Harappa, Swat, along the Karakoram Highway and early Muslim and Mughal heritage of Multan, Lahore, Thatta and Peshawar.
