KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) -- Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin or known Qabin to his friends firmly believes in the adage 'where there is a will, there is a way'.

For Qabin, a firm believer in the motto `Malaysia Boleh', the word impossible never exists in his dictionary of life. When he want something, he will find a way of getting it.

While the nation is preparing for the 50th Merdeka anniversary bash, Qabin believes he has to contribute something memorable for the nation. He does not want to be just another spectator when the clock strikes 12 midnight on August 31.

Backed by his success in scaling Mount Everest in 2004, Qabin is undertaking the unprecedented Seven Continent Extreme Adventure (EE7B) that started on July 7.

For this 25-year-old, the EE7B challenge will take him through seven continents and various challenges. He expects to complete the challenge in two years.

SEVEN CONTINENT EXTREME EXPEDITION

EE7B is no ordinary expedition and has never been attempted by any Malaysian. The `4 in 1' expedition covers cycling through the world, scaling seven of the world's highest peaks, swimming across the English Channel and a voyage to the North and South Pole. Naturally, some may doubt whether this young can make it.

When met at the function where Aman Malaysia handed over their contribution for the EE7B, at Mont Kiara recently, Qabin related to the writer his mission and contribution for the nation.

The second year business administration student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) seems to be fully prepared to make the nation proud of him again.

ALREADY STARTED EE7B

In early July, many parties came forward to sponsor and provide moral support, including Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Apart from that, UMNO Youth Movement, Tourism Ministry, Youth and Sports Ministry and the Higher Education Ministry provided financial aid and others. Malaysia Airlines provided air tickets while UFL Malaysia, Canon Malaysia and Adidas supplied other necessities.

With everything set, the EE7B mission took off. On July 7, Qabin left for Los Angeles, United States, to begin his solo expedition on July 10.

The expedition will see Qabin cycling and facing a multitude of challenges across the American, European, Asian continent before arriving back in Malaysia. So there is another Malaysian hero in the making.
